website

It's about time. Buying domain names these days is difficult, most obvious and direct names are taken.  Chances are your name is taken, as is mine, by a baseball player, alexnewton.com.  My objective here is to market myself and design skills through a portfolio, resume and blog. I'll list what has been taken and what is available.
I plan to generate my domain and site content around these elements:
  • Alexander Worthy Newton II
  • Industrial Design
  • as short as possible! ("a.com" thus "a@a.com)
  • .com domain
  • my personality
  • small business scalability
  • Jesse Newton, sister site, symbiosis b/t the two domain names
Taken:
newton.com
newtond.com
newtondesign.com
worthydesign.com
alexnewton.com
worthydesign.com
awn.com
awn2.com
awndesign.com

Not Taken:
awnii.com
awn2d.com
awnid.com
awn2id.com
awnii-id.com
awn2design.com
newtonid.com
anewtond.com

chain/seat stay build

So the surface quality was wonky upon close inspection when built with the boundary surface.  I ended up going back to the surface loft, and using three lofts, instead of one, to complete the build.  Good as its gonna get for now.

why?

Nice! "Seriously, this feature needs to be turned off." Hopefully this can provide some answers, see article here: Failed to Save

today's process

bicycle frames

I'm currenty working through some thoughts on a city bicycle design.  The first image was a test frame, pinning down some geometry and getting comfortable with Solidworks.  The second is a test in pushing some limits, full monocoque construction.  By the third image, I've begun some refinement.

Constellation: Graphic Design

I'm still struggling with the design on the name for my illuminated rock hold project.  I've picked "Constellation" for obvious reasons, but I haven't yet figured out how to display it properly.  Thoughts?

final teaser page progression

These where saved screen shots why I was developing the final page for my Constellation project.  I wanted a lasting image of people climbing a lit route, and a simple step by step process showing some depth to the project.

Constellation ideation page

I do just as much CAD/3-D ideation as sketching.
